My name is James Urban. I am a Combat Veteran that supported Operation OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom). Not only have I served my country in active duty, but I have also served as a government contractor supporting USASOC (United States Army Special Operations Command) flight company. After that, I worked in Oil Spill Response. Currently, I have stepped away from high-paying career fields due to health reasons and started to teach high school students and coach them to success in Aviation Maintenance, guiding them towards their Federal Certifications through Western Maricopa Education Center.

My mother is suffering from financial burdens which is affecting both of us. She has had several strokes, suffers from dementia, is blind, has neuropathy, and internal bleeding. She is in hospice care and currently resides in an assisted living home.

She is low income, and because of her current state, we cannot sign POA durable because her mind is not right. Because of that, she will not qualify for state funding support. Therefore, she may not be able to stay in the group home in comfort as she passes.

I normally do not ask for help. However, time off work, lack of presence at the house taking care of my life, out-of-pocket expenses, future funeral expenses, etc. I am overwhelmed mentally, physically, and financially. Anything helps. I love you all and regardless of what type of support you provide, my family and I love you.
