Continuing Robert Wade’s Legacy & Preserving History

Hey community,

Showcasing this solo exhibition with the renowned photographer Robert Wade has become an experience that we will remember forever. He’s shared with me that this has been the most successful show he’s ever done. And I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this with us.

Robert is a close mentor to me and over the last year, I’ve been able to comb through his archive and select images that captured the essence of a timeless decade.

We know the arts are at risk. Funding is being cut tremendously and these impacts are already being felt by communities through much deeper channels and there are threats to reshape cultural narratives and history.

TASWIRA has the opportunity right now to place 3 photographs in the collection of a prominent cultural institution in Seattle.

This is how we can honor and continue his legacy within our community.

This is coming directly from the gallery, so I thought I’d try something different and create a GoFundMe for these 3 pieces so that no matter what size donation, our community can all have a part in this major placement in tribute to Robert before our final celebration of the 1969 and beyond exhibition on May 29th.
