Hi, my name is Darlene. I am hoping to raise money for my sister, Betty J. Turner (BJ). In 2005, BJ was fighting an aggressive stage 3 blastoma brain tumor, and last year in 2024, she started having continuous seizures that would last for sometimes 20 minutes. She was hospitalized for a month, needing to learn how to walk again. She wasn’t allowed to come home unless we could have a ramp built for her. That’s where our brother and a church stepped in to help. As a family, we did everything we possibly could to help her and her 2 boys. We thought at that time that maybe her tumor had come back, but that wasn’t the case. The doctor said it was the after-effects of her chemotherapy 20 years ago. My sister seemed to be recovering the best she could under the circumstances of being sent home on 5 seizure medications. BJ was up and walking on her own and getting stronger.

At the end of May, the beginning of June of this year, our sister BJ was hospitalized again, this time for unexplained falls she was having. The doctors, after testing, informed the family that once again, BJ is in a fight for her life with Leukemia. BJ, since being diagnosed, has spent another 30 days in the hospital for 3 bone marrow biopsies and chemotherapy. Presently, on 7/17/25, BJ went in for another bone marrow biopsy. Our family was informed that the chemo is working, but she still has a long road ahead of her with plans for her to be admitted back to the hospital this Monday, coming up 7/28, where the doctors plan on doubling the chemo infusion twice a day for 3 days and another 2 for observation. BJ will need to do this every 28 days for 4 months.

We are just asking for any help possible to keep her afloat daily and cover medical expenses that insurance doesn’t cover. Thank you for your consideration and support.
