Andryk was born January 4th, 2016. He was born with bilateral clubfoot. We had no idea he was going to be born with clubfoot either, truth be told, I didn't even know what it was at the time. We went through hell over those little feet to get them corrected. He had multiple castings done to straighten his little feet out, in May 2020, Andryk had a tendon transfer and tendon release on both legs. He was casted from his groin to his toes. Throughout his short years here on Earth, he has had multiple surgeries and procedures done, from his feet to his ears.

Andryk started to hurt back in June, he started complaining some that his leg hurt. In Aug 2025, I took Andryk to the pediatrician over his leg. His pediatrician instantly sent us to Niswongers in Johnson City. They ran tests. They came back in and told us, they believed it rhinovirus. I questioned how it could be the rhinovirus, because his leg was hurting. They gave a cramp explanation and sent us on our way. Time went on, it kept getting worse and worse. Andryk then started waking up in the middle of the night, screaming in pain. I called and scheduled an appt for Nov. 18th. Well, on Nov. 17th, Andryk came with to pick me up from work and he was bawling. I told him he had an appt with his doctor the next day, and I'll never forget that little voice saying "mom, I cant wait. It hurts too bad, can I go to the hospital instead?" I called his dad and had his dad come get him and take him to the ER while I got Kyler situated.

They done an ultrasound of andryks leg, they told dad (Chan) that they seen something and wanted to do an MRI and talk to oncology. My heart stopped. They kept andryk overnight, tuesday morning they rolled him back to do the mri. Before andryk got out of the mri, I had to go get Kyler off the bus. As I was standing there, waiting for the bus, Chan called me. Thats when we got the news and my whole world crumbled. Thats when I got told 3 words that no parent ever wants to hear. "Andryk has cancer." Like you /know/ childhood cancer exists, it breaks your heart to see the commercials, but you dont realize how quickly everything can change just by hearing those 3 little words. Its the scariest thing to ever hear. You question everything. You question why. You go through anger, sadness, guilt, so many times. But you see this beautiful, happy little boy, smiling, and all the negativity vanishes and you put on a strong, brave face for the sake of your child.

We were told we had to leave basically immediately to get to Saint Jude for further testing and treatment. So we packed up in one night, everything we could think of, and off we went to Saint Jude in Memphis. It took us roughly 9.5 hours to get here, but we made it.

Please, join and follow along as we navigate this whole process of cancer.

You'll quickly learn that andryk is one of the most amazing kids ever, hes definitely one of a kind, can lighten up anyone's mood, and hes so strong and brave. Even facing cancer diagnosis, he has remained smiling and goofy. He loves being a big brother to his younger brothers, Kyler (5, moms side) & Spencer (11 months, dad's side), & another on the way from dad's side. He loves fortnite and pokemon, he loves music and playing outside. Most of all, he loves his family, he is the most compassionate child I have ever seen. This boy is just absolutely amazing.

We have been told the type, but thats as far as we know right now. Its ewing sarcoma (pronounced you-ing).

If you're not able to donate, then share andryk's story, use the #AndryksArmy spread his beacon of light, spread his courage and strength. Share his story.

We currently live in southwest Virginia, in Scott County. Which has had a sudden surge in childhood cancer diagnosis. Andryk is number 15 of active childhood cancer patients in the county. A county that has around 3k kids in it. Your donations will go to ensure that Andryk has a home to return to after he is done with his treatment, and that his brothers have a home during this whole process as well. As me (kelsey, mom) and Andryk will be staying at Saint Jude until the end of his treatment.
