Feed the Homeless Food Truck
During a moment of inspiration I had a thought. For months now I have been using the law of attraction and the power of positive manifestation trying to combine my passion for cooking and helping people. My vision has humble beginning's, so did the forefront of most enterprises and with faith and determination might grow into a great movement. Far to many live in the degradation and depravity of homelessness and hunger. Many due to emotional and mental disorders, alcoholism and addiction, handicaps and disabilities or some combination of those fearful afflictions. The cost on society of caring for, incarcerating, processing and patrolling the homeless community is uncountable and in reflecting upon solely the detriment my own journey has been, I realize I owe an immeasurable debt. The ability to reach even one lost human being in need directing them toward the resources that may end that vicious cycle would prove this venture well over paid. I know during my duration of time drenched in addiction and poverty, trust of anyone was scarce, even those trying to help me. Comfort and connection in our society has always been greatly linked to a warm cooked meal. I firmly believe that in providing this we may be able to melt the icy protective layer someone on the streets may wear and truly reach them, guiding them toward the resources available for gaining independence and freedom from the throws of addiction and poverty. I intend to purchase a food truck, have it graded and certified by department of health, use what connections I already have in recovery and develop relationships with other needed resources for housing, education, legal support, welfare and any other social need encountered. I will prepare and serve food for no charge in areas known to be frequented my transients providing information and assistance in any area that may aide them in repairing their lives. I will utilize connections with food banks and other resources to supplement the cost of food and cater to any private paid events, if I am hired for, using the proceeds to finance this movement to help those who may not know how to help themselves yet. I have started this campaign on gofundme.org and I will announce it on my FaceBook page as well as start a page dedicated to this dream.
