History

After 17 years of determination, setbacks and perseverance, the people of Johnstown are finally turning a derelict site in the heart of our village into something extraordinary — a vibrant community park for everyone to enjoy.

Planning

Planning permission has been secured, the lease is in place, and the development is now underway. By next year, a long-neglected eyesore will become a welcoming space for families, children, walkers, gardeners, and the wider community.

Project Cost

The project is estimated to cost €550,000 in total. The majority of this funding will come from Kildare County Council, Leader and other community funding organisations. We, the community, need to fund at least 10% of the cost through our own fund raising efforts.

So far, a lot of work has been done to secure the site, planning permission and funds to commence the project, but we need your help to complete the vision.

What will your donation go towards?

Completion of the park requires community fundraising and support. Every donation will help create a lasting amenity at the heart of Johnstown for generations to come.
