We have all been affected by cancer, either directly, or we know someone close to us who has had to fight this cruel and indiscriminate disease.

This year I (and my colleagues at BetterGov) have decided to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in recognition of the amazing work they do to support those with cancer and their families.

While this 56 mile ride is far from the longest charity ride I have undertaken, as I set-off from the velodrome in Glasgow with Amy, Joe, Iain and Dan, there will be a few very special people in my mind.
