Help John Recover After a Life-Changing Accident!

One split-second mistake. A freak accident. And everything changed.

Hi, my name is John. I'm a divorced father of five children who depend on me — and I’m humbly asking for help after experiencing a traumatic accident that’s turned my world upside down.

What started as a quick late-night car wash run with my girlfriend and our puppy, Harper, quickly became one of the scariest and most painful moments of my life.

Around 9 PM, we pulled up to a self-service car wash. We stepped out to feed quarters into the machine. In the few seconds we were out of the car, Harper jumped on the armrest and accidentally locked the doors — with the engine running, our phones and keys still inside.

We were locked out. Harper was inside the running car. And we had no way to get back in.

Our only option was to break the window and with me being unemployed I had to think of a better option.

Unfortunately, we were also locked out of our apartment since our keys were in the car.

Maintenance was gone for the night. We remembered that our second-floor balcony door was unlocked, and with no other choice, I accepted a ride from a kind stranger back to our complex while my girlfriend stayed with the car.

To get in, I had to scale a 10-foot fence and jump toward the balcony. But as I reached for the railing, I slipped. My hand got caught between the bars, and the weight of my body crushed the bones in my index finger. I also dislocated my right shoulder as I hung there, in searing pain.

I somehow managed to pull myself up and stumble into the apartment, barely conscious and in excruciating pain. Using my uninjured hand, I grabbed my iPad and used the Hyundai Blue app to unlock the car remotely, so my girlfriend could safely get to Harper and drive back to me.

Then, I texted her from the Ipad to let her know what had happened. She immediately called 911.

The fire department arrived, got to me inside the apartment, and I was rushed by ambulance to the nearest hospital.

What This Has Cost Me

This accident didn’t just leave me with crushed bones and a dislocated shoulder.
It left me jobless, without health insurance, and unable to support my children during a time they need me most.

Here’s what I’m facing out of pocket:

$6,900 – Hospital Bill
$2,500 – Doctor’s Fees
$4,000 – Anesthesiologist
$5,000 – Emergency Room
$1,500 – Ambulance
$4,000+ – Follow-ups, Rehab & Possible Revision Surgery

➤ Total: Over $23,900 and climbing

Why I’m Asking for Help

I’ve always tried to be strong for my kids. I’ve never liked asking for anything. But right now, I have no choice. I need help — not just for me, but for my children.

Your support would help cover medical bills, therapy, and recovery costs — and give me time to pursue disability assistance so I can provide for my family again.

Even a small donation would go a long way in helping me get back on my feet, heal properly, and be the father my kids deserve.

If you’ve ever had a moment where life spiraled from something so small… then I hope you’ll understand.

With deep gratitude,

John
