John's fight with Motor Neuron Disease.

Hi Everyone,

I'm reaching out to share my dad's story.

In March 2023 my dad John, a loving father, devoted husband, and a friend to many, was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease.

John, grew up in Ballyliffin Co. Donegal, with his parents Mary and James, and his four sisters, Mary, Eileen, Catherine and Róisín. He met and married his wife Jackie, they settled in Coachford Co. Cork and had three children Kieran, Myself (Nicola), and Aaron.

John has always been a hardworking man, and a skilled carpenter with over 35 years. He has always had a passion for keeping fit, playing Soccer for Dripsey Celtic over the years and more recently through his love of golf.

Unfortunately this horrible diagnosis has meant enormous changes for John and our family, this is why we need your help.

I have created this GoFundMe campaign to ease the financial strain on John, my dad, and our family. To ensure he receives the best possible care and support during this challenging journey. Your generous contributions will make a significant difference in John's life, allowing him to focus on his health and well-being without worrying about the financial aspects including accessibility modifications, healthcare, specialised equipment, and caregiving support.

Despite the physical limitations, John continues to inspire us with his resilience and determination to cherish every moment. He's a fighter, refusing to let MND define him or dampen his spirits and this is where I have to mention Ruby, our family dog who doesn't leave dad's side.
