The Miami film community has suffered a great loss.
Johnny Sarmiento, superstar production assistant, manager of ToeJam Backlot and beloved member of the local entertainment world has passed away unexpectedly due to non-COVID related illness. Survived by his mother Maria, daughter Ashley, son Jay, and baby grandson Leonardo, he also left behind another grieving family; the hundreds of friends and film/entertainment professionals who have always counted on him in so many ways. He was a friend and a fixer, a colleague and confidante, a neighborhood personality whose goodwill and professionalism touched every single person he met. The Johnny-Of-All-Trades who could fix anything - including broken hearts - is gone, but we hope to ease the burden of the shock and pain of his own family.

This trust is set up to be administered as financial support for Johnny's children and grandchild as they attempt to move forward without their father, grandfather and main support.
