John Wilson’s Retirement

Hello, our names are Joe & Jessica, Son and Daughter of John Wilson.

On the 21st September 2024, Dad suffered a Heart Attack. Fortunately, the Paramedics and Hospital teams at St James and Leeds General Infirmary managed to stabilise Dad. We’d like to thank all of the NHS staff for their dedication and in particular the Paramedic Fast Responder that undoubtedly saved his life.

Dad has always been a hard working, independent man, who has run a successful local business supplying dairy produce to the wider Leeds community for over 40 years. The community and his customers have always been at the forefront of our Dads mind and in recent days we have been blessed with well wishes and messages of support.

Unfortunately, Dads diagnosis means he will need to undergo a Triple Heart Bypass which will also result in a long period of recovery. Whilst Dad is strong, willing to take on surgery, the most challenging and ultimately heart breaking thing to witness is his realisation that he will have to retire from his beloved “milk round”.

Without going into too much detail, with the increasing costs of living and having lost our Mother 5 years ago, Dads faced adversity and challenges financially, resulting in a deterioration of his wellbeing. He has bravely continued to try and keep in a healthy routine, maintaining his role as a Father and Grandfather. We’ve always known his customers and his milk round have been his outlet, providing him with a great level of independence. Something he will dearly miss.

For all of the reasons above and with your support, we are fundraising for Dad. Hoping that we can give him the best start to retirement.

A small donation will really help manage some of the financial hardships Dad is experiencing as well as giving us the opportunity to celebrate his fantastic career upon recovery from life changing surgery.

Most importantly, we would really like to provide him with a retirement party involving all of his very loyal customers & friends.
