John Was Made To Win

Loving, caring, nurturing, selfless, brave, hero.... those are some of the many qualities that John possesses.
None of us ever imagined that we would hear a doctor say "John is going to need a kidney transplant. Sooner rather than later..."
Just a few years ago, we learned that John has chronic kidney disease. It was a tough pill to swallow when we learned that he would eventually need a kidney transplant in his teenage years. But his body had other plans, and wasn't going to wait a few more years.
John is being followed by the best transplant team at NYU Langone Medical Center in Manhattan. This is just the beginning of a lifelong journey for him. In the past few months, he has visited multiple doctors weekly in Manhattan. He has had bloodwork, EKG's, CT scans, at home injections, and a lot of daily medications. You name it, this boy has done it.
Aside from these pre-surgical visits, John will need to follow up with his doctors in the city 3-4 times a week after his transplant this June. To say the least, this is going to be a long and exhausting journey for John, and his incredible parents Karen and Anthony. It will also be expensive.
So many of you have already graciously reached out to ask us how you can help during this very trying time. Our family believes in the power of love and prayer. So please keep John, his parents Karen and Anthony, and his amazing siblings Ava and AJ, in your thoughts and prayers. We anticipate a significant financial burden as a result of John's diagnosis, which is why we set up this campaign.
No amount is to small. We hope that the funds raised will give Karen and Anthony the ability to focus entirely on John's treatment and recovery, instead of focusing on the bills that accompany his transplant.
We thank you all for you love, prayers, support, and generosity. Together, we will help the Sica family. God is good, and this boy was born to win!!
With Gratitude,
The family of John Sica
