Florence Marathon for John Exell

Hi there just to inform you all I'll be running the Florence marathon on the 24th November 2024 on behalf of my friend John Exell.

Unfortunately at the start of the summer of 2024 John had a severe stroke, which led to a fall, which resulted in bleeding on the brain leaving John fighting for his life. Fortunately after successful brain surgery John escaped our worse fears.

However John now faces a tough road to recovery.

He's currently stable in hospital waiting for a place at a rehabilitation centre where he will learn to eat properly, communicate with family and with a huge fight learn to walk again. As you can imagine this has become a real strain on his family, especially his wife Lisa. Lisa is trying to continue to work while looking after her children and being at Johns bedside each day.

They are not asking for handouts, they are too proud but they are struggling and need our support. John is self employed and is unlikely to return to work again. If he manages to defeat the odds he still faces a year or two in the rehabilitation centre to make his recovery.

Please may I ask if you could make a donation so Johns and his family can get the support which is required and needed to help get them through this difficult times.
