John Blee (big jake)(josie)

As many if not most of you will have already heard, one of our own, one of the best and biggest characters of Strabane, John Blee aka. Big Jake/Josie has been suffering with a serious and uncommon condition known as Encephalitis. A condition our family has been raising awareness for since learning of John’s sudden illness. John and his family has fought with every fraction of hope, prayer and love that he would soon over come the hand he has been so cruelly dealt. Despite this, his condition remains heartbreakingly fatal.
John’s wife Susan, son Oisin and daughter Macey have shown nothing but resilience, strength and determination from day one whilst also tending to John’s late and much loved father Mickey before his passing just a mere 7 weeks ago.
The hope with this fundraising mission is to allow Susan and the family to travel back and forth to Belfast Royal Hospital, where John currently resides for treatment, so that they can be with him for as long and often as possible with the time frame we pray God lengthens John to stay with us.
We hope that this will aid Susan with the cost of travel, accommodation, food and help in general financially during her unfortunate circumstances whilst she tends to and spends with her loving husband in the days that lay ahead.
What this family has been dealt is nothing short of gut wrenching and a small gesture like this we hope will mean so much to them in their time of need. Susan has shown time and time again that she is always willing to manage but this is the very least we can do to show our love and support in a way that’s accessible and useful to a family who means so much to us all.
