We are all missing John Lancaster. He passed away suddenly on Friday May 1st, 2020 on his 43rd birthday. He was the best friend in the world, willing to do anything to help you out or put a smile on your face. His generosity of spirit was second to none. This was evident throughout John's life, but perhaps nowhere more than in the love, support and care that he showed for the light of his life, his daughter Olivia. With multiple heart surgeries in her first year of life and more to come as she continues to grow up, Olivia's strength was one of John's greatest sources of pride. With his passing, there is a need to help Olivia financially, both immediately and throughout the remainder of her childhood. John and Olivia's mom Rachel have been successfully co-parenting Olivia for the last couple of years. Though their marriage ended, their friendship was strengthened and they were partners in raising her together. In fact, John's girlfriend Robin and Rachel had become close friends, and are even closer today. However, as Olivia finishes first grade, she and Rachel have 11 more years of her childhood left to navigate.
While John can never be replaced, the one hole we can help to fill is the financial one. Between child support and the additional child care costs now, there is a more than $1,000 monthly shortfall for Olivia and Rachel. This is a tangible way that all of us who loved John can help make sure his daughter is taken care of. We don't want them to have to choose to leave the only community the family ever lived in.
