Joe’s Circle

Donation protected
Just over a year ago, Joe Saunders passed away in a tragic accident, shortly after his 22nd birthday. Not many people knew, but Joe was also quietly struggling with his mental health. On Saturday 21st February, we’ll be planting the first seeds of Joe’s Circle — a new community project created in Joe’s memory to build friendship, connection, and wellbeing for young people.

Launch Event: Blaby Bullets vs Joe’s All Stars @ Lutterworth Athletic FC - Saturday 21st February, Kick Off 7pm

Joe was the older brother of Harry and they both grew up playing football: Joe with local teams including Whetstone Juniors and AFDA and Harry with Blaby Bullets. Launching Joe’s Circle through a football match feels fitting — bringing young people together in the same way football always has.

Harry will captain the Bullets against Joe’s All Stars — a team made up of Joe’s teammates, friends, family and connections. Joe would have loved a bit of friendly competition with his little brother, and there may be a few twists in the team selection and substitutions as the game unfolds.

What is Joe’s Circle?

Joe’s Circle is about keeping young people connected. All donations will be used to create and support simple, meaningful activities that bring people together. Things like:

> Social meet-ups
> Coffee vouchers
> Event tickets
> Venue hire
> Future football or sports matches

We also hope to develop a simple “reaching out” system, because asking for help can be the hardest step, and we want to make that step easier.

You never know who might be quietly struggling - and a circle of support could be just what they need. Joe’s Circle starts small, but as soon as one person benefits, it’s already making a difference.

Thank you for planting the seeds — let’s add some water and see the circle grow, in Joe’s memory…
