Joel Allen Javanainen-Brown

Joel passed away and all of us who knew him are devastated. His loss left a single mother caring for his 16 month old son. Any financial donations are greatly appreciated during this difficult time for them.

Joel Allen Javanainen-Brown, 29, died unexpectedly on December 31, 2023 at his home in Johnson.

Joel was born in Connecticut on January 2, 1994 to Minna Javanainen and Jason Brown. He graduated from Tolland High School. Shortly thereafter, he moved north to Vermont to pursue his love of the outdoors. Joel spent a lot of time hiking, fishing and absorbing nature. He worked various jobs that allowed him to keep physically fit, while also enjoying the scenery of this beautiful state. He loved animals and helping those less fortunate.

Joel was a huge presence. He was funny, vivacious, energetic. His loss leaves a huge void.

A life gone too soon leaves many hearts broken. His pride and joy was his one-year old son James. Joel's spirit will carry on through him forever.

He is also survived by his mother Minna, his siblings Devon, Colton, Jonah, Jalene, Jaisoleil, Jaycelyn, and his uncle Aleksi, who was like a brother to him. Also, his grandparents: Anne-Maarit, Juha and Arlene, along with aunts, uncles, multiple cousins and his son's brother, Michael. He has many friends and family who all mourn his absence.
