Joe Robinson Memorial Fund for his Grandchildren
Donation protected
Joe Robinson passed away Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 on St. Simons Island, Georgia with his family by his side. He was born Joseph Jerald Robinson to John “Eddie” and Ethel Mae Robinson, on July 11, 1958 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
Joe grew up learning the value of hard work through fishing, shrimping, and tree work that translated into his adult life. He served three years in the Army in the Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He went on to become a firefighter and a training officer in the state of Georgia. To build a life for starting a family he became an entrepreneur in demolition, tree work, roll-off container trucks, and rock crushing. He raised his children, Ashlyn and John, on St. Simons Island with his then-wife Cindy (Mickler).
Joe was an extremely hard-working man. He would give anything or help anyone, often making new friends in the process. He had a strong moral compass and a spiritual faith that guided him in his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with the lights of his life- his grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his loving girlfriend, Jody Gough of Athens, GA; Children: Ashlyn (Jonathan) Elze and grandchildren, Libby & Clay Elze of Brunswick, GA, John (Megan) Robinson and grandchildren, Emery & Adelyn Robinson of Temple, NH; Siblings, Patsy Robinson of Buford, GA, Alice (Larry) Grizzard of Chesapeake, VA, Johnny Robinson of Jacksonville, Fl, Wanda Reagan of Hampton, FL, Lorraine Robinson of Buford, GA, Paul Robinson of Jacksonville, FL, two nephews, eight nieces and numerous extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Edward “Eddie” Robinson, Ethel Mae (Owens) Robinson and his sister Cynthia Ellen Smith.
Joe’s grandchildren were the lights of his life and more important than anything to him. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to express sympathy donations can be made for Libby, Clay, Emery and Adelyn through (insert link) for their future.
