Earlier this year, eighth-graders Joe and Jeff Melanson of Malden suffered a significant loss. Their beloved mother, Kim, passed away after a devastating battle with cancer. Tragically, the twins had already lost their father years earlier and will now be facing the world without either parent.
Joe and Jeff have loving grandparents who are going to be their guardians as they move forward, navigating high school and, one day, adult life. Though the boys' grandparents are doing everything they can to ensure that the boys have all their needs met, undoubtedly there are ways in which outside help could be extremely meaningful.
So many of you have reached out to the boys' school asking what you could do to provide some measure of comfort to the Melansons.
Apart from continuing to hold the Melansons in your hearts, this GoFundMe account, proceeds of which will go toward helping to defray the costs of the boys' favorite activity: hockey, as well as toward their future college educations, is a wonderful way to make sure the boys can continue to pursue their dreams.
