Joe & Mady: Cancer to IVF

In 2006 my husband & I met as high school sweethearts and soon enough nothing could keep us apart. We stayed best friends for many years and started dating in 2014.  Two years later we were devastated to find out that he was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma. 

After numerous blood draws, biopsies and scans they decided to take him into surgery for a total thyroidectomy. After the cancer was removed he had to go through radiation in order to rid his body of the left over cancer cells in the lymph nodes. 

We knew right then that life was too short and can change in an instant so we got married in 2017 and shortly after started trying to conceive. After a while of trying with no luck, we started seeing a fertility specialist who informed us that we have a less than a 5% chance of having children naturally. We have prayed over it and decided to pursue IVF. 

IVF includes many rounds of testing, medications, ultrasounds and exams that we are just unable to afford by ourselves. After everything we did to beat his cancer we do not want money to be the thing that inhibits us from the opportunity to conceive.  We both want a child more than anything in this world and know that with your help our dreams can come true.
