Hi My name is kelly and im friends with the two amazing people pictured above.
Recently there world has been torn apart and the story so tragic.
I ask that you please take the time to read this story and do anything you can, no matter how big or small to help this inspirational young lady.
The couple in the picture are Mike and Jodie, they have been together 18 years and have 3 beautiful children. Jamie 17, Niamh 12 and the latest edition baby Aoife 15 weeks old.
During her recent pregnancy Jodie was having difficulty swallowing and experiencing chronic pains in her back.
She advised several medical proffesionals about this and every time they dismissed her concerns as hormonal and told her once she had given birth everything would be fine.
Two weeks after having her baby the symptoms continued so Jodie made an appointment at her local g.p surgery, her g.p diagnosed constipation and said "nothing sinister" sent her away with a bottle of lactulose.
A week passed and symptoms did not improve so a second g.p appointment was made. This time she was told it was a Hernia and was referred for an endoscopy.
The Endoscopy was scheduled for the 19th of June 2022 (fathers day) baby Aoife was 5 weeks old.
This is when there lives would be changed for ever!
They were sadly informed Jodie had cancer of the Esphogus and further investigations would be required to determine its severity.
Two weeks later she had a full body scan and the worst possible news delivered.
The cancer was stage 4 and had spread to the lungs and liver.
It was terminal and only palliative care available. Her prognosis a mere 14 months.
38 y/o mother of three, how cruel can life be?
Since the Diagnosis Jodies response has been unbelievable. She refuses to give into this vile disease and lives her to the absolute max.
She has inspired many people in our local community with her positivity and refusal to give up.
Constantly smiling and laughing and being the loving mother and partner she has always been.
We want to show Jodie how much she is loved by all and give her the best wedding possible.
Every girl deserves to be a princess for a day and with your help this is what we want do.
