My name is Donald Garner. I am highly motivated to establish this opportunity for one who has become a good friend. Her name is Jocelyne Keirouze. She was born in Lebanon, and had spent her whole life there until about six years ago. There, she met an American journalist, with whom they had their first child. At some point, they moved to the US, and had another child. Jocelyne had not yet achieved citizenship, when everything started going downhill.

Long story short, the children's father was arrested and did jail time for abusing Jocelyne and both children. She, then, had full custody of her two boys. When the man got out of jail, he ultimately hired a lawyer to get full custody. Jocelyne fought with everything within herself, and with all the funds she could come up with. In the process, she ended up living in her vehicle while still fighting. So, while "houseless", and unable to hire a lawyer, she predominantly represented herself while being new to everything-American, and never having been to court for anything in her life. She speaks four languages, and has an excellent grasp of English, yet still struggled with all court procedures. The end-result was a temporary custody order. This was in Texas.

In early March, 2024, the boys' father got them out of school and essentially kidnapped them, taking them to Chicago, absolutely in contempt of court orders. That was three years ago, and Jocelyne has been living in a vehicle ever since, until very recently. She ended up in Indiana, not too far from Chicago, and has been hustling with work, ever since, desperately trying to get to her children.

Jocelyne is very impressive and capable, and highly driven. She had insisted on still living in her car, while working full time and sleeping in the parking lot of her employer, overnight. This is because she has discovered where her boys live, and all she can think about is giving good things to her boys. Their father won't even let her see them, but only tolerates her dropping the gifts off. We've literally watched this take place in real time.

In Jocelyne's words, she's dying ... not physically but inside. That's not just her pain for herself, but her pain for the boys. She's convinced that their father is still abusing them.

She seriously needs a lawyer. We don't have the funds to help her, but we absolutely believe in her. And that's why I'm seeking help. I've never used Go Fund Me before. She has her living expenses covered, and would be adamant about every penny she might receive through Go Fund Me going toward legal stuff.
