While visiting friends in NYC, my dear sister Jocelyn had to have an emergency C-section after her placenta ruptured. Sweet Julian was delivered on 6/17 at 29 weeks and weighed just 3 lbs, and we are so grateful that mother and baby are alive and getting excellent care at New York Presbyterian/Cornell Weill Medical Center. Because Julian will need to remain in the NICU for the next 3 months, Jocelyn, Rick, and Joanie need to stay in NYC with him. As the Kotrbas are far away from their home in Chicagoland and much of their support system, we are doing all we can to help them from afar.
