I cannot sit idly by and do nothing. I can't even count the number of unemployed people in my network who are struggling to find work -- many of whom have been struggling for 2+ years. These are good people who genuinely WANT to work, but every single job application they complete ends in disappointment -- rejection from the recruiter or hiring manager.

I have always said -- I can't help everyone, but I can certainly help someone. Many have family to help them over this hurdle. Others have friends. But some have nobody. Literally nobody. That's really hard. Imagine having nobody to turn to in a crisis? Imagine losing your home and having to live in your car? Imagine having kids and not knowing where their next meal is coming from? Imagine having to choose between food and gas? These are real problems for real people, just like you and me.

Unemployment insurance is a short-term solution for a long-term issue. Somehow, the number of months it takes to land a job has gone from a few weeks to a few months to a few years (for some). Meanwhile, the cost of living is skyrocketing. This is where we, the people, come in.

What can you do to help?

For those who are in a position to help financially, you can contribute to this campaign. The more funds we can raise, the more people we can help. I say "we" because we are all in this together. With so many out of work, who gets the money?

This is a really tough question to answer. Some needs are more dire than others. For some, this is a lifeline. There are a few people in my network who need IMMEDIATE assistance. They are first on the list. They wish to remain anonymous, and I will respect those wishes. So for you, the donor, I ask that you please have faith in me and trust that the money will be distributed to the right people. Even if we can just help ONE person, that is ONE LIFE w could be saving. I know there are plenty of scam artists out there. I am not one of them. I can assure you of that.
