I want to take a minute and talk about a women many of you know. Many of you may have spent time with her volunteering, fundraising, advocating for various causes. From providing sheet pans of baklava to schools and teachers showing gratitude to immersing herself in advocacy for Islam and her Muslim sisters and brothers, she’s done it all.
In employment and/or volunteer work, my sister Kristy Sabbah has dedicated countless hours to helping those in need. In one way or another, she has been involve with the following: The Islamic Center of the East Valley, AMA, Cair, the Islamic Community Center of Tempe, Girl Scouts, PTO and countless interfaith activities.
Kristy has devoted herself to service for her family, her faith and her community. If you know Kristy, you know her children. They have given countless community service hours with her. You know what a big part of her life they are! She lives and breathes for them.
Today the tables have turned however. Today Kristy and her children have fallen upon significant hardships. Having to leave her home and relocate to a small apartment has been a challenge. Moving is grueling and it’s expensive as we know. It’s even more so when attempting to do it with a broken arm.
Alone, this undertaking is more than any one of us could endure. She deserves more. The kids deserve more. These life altering circumstances are too much.
She is working full time while raising her kids full time and ensuring their life is impacted as little as possible during this trying time. You will still find her shuffling kids to and fro the soccer fields, still attending every school function and conference, ensuring homework is done and more all while making sure they are felt safe and secure during this transition.
She is working to get settled into her new apartment with the younger three girls. I’m so proud of my sister. She could run circles around me working, raising her children, and helping in the community.
The least of Kristy’s worries should be financials but unfortunately it has come to that. This is the reason that I have set up this GoFundMe account. During this trying time I would like to help ease Kristy’s worries by helping her with the financial burden she is faced with. If you are so inclined to donate, I know she would be very appreciative. I know this is a hard ask for Kristy to make as she has always been on the giving side of those in need. If you wish to contact Kristy, her phone has been disconnected during all of this so the best way to reach her is by email or WhatsApp for the time being.
Thank you for always loving and supporting my sister and her her children. She could not have asked to live in a better and loving community than the one she has supported for the last two decades!
With love,
Karen Knock (Kristy’s sister)
