Hi! I’m Jamie. I’m a 30 y.o black male living in Toronto. I’m currently unemployed and due to facing an eviction in less than 2 weeks, I can’t operate my business out of my home. I am looking intensely for a job in the culinary industry with Back of House & Front of House experience and looking into options to upgrade my skills and knowledge to apply and work in the corporate world. In the meantime, I need help at least getting funds to move my stuff into a storage and keep them there while I couch surf and job hunt. The funds are for the storage unit and a lock, covers for my furniture, storage bins for my kitchen items & personal items, and a moving truck for everything.

To explain further, over the past year I've been dealing with a landlord, that's a property management company, trying to kick my roommates and I out of the home we currently live in. My previous roommates left Nov 2024. The landlord didn't allow us to get roommates to add to the lease. So eventually we decided (albeit late) to get housing occupants that technically could live there. 2 things happened, first a roommate didn't pay their share. The second and most important part, somewhere during the year a by law came into place that made it so that what I was doing was basically commiting illegal housing. I found this out when a by-law officer came by last month and was kind enough to explain it to me. So yeah, living in a trap.
