Help those affected by Nymboida Bushfires
On Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th November a massive firestorm went through one of Stray's "Strademark" Stops River Retreat at the Nymboida Canoe Centre, and all through the surrounding area. The fire devastated the small tight-knit community, destroyed 90 homes and left approximately 200 people homeless.
The Canoe Centre is run by local volunteers and has always been a Stray favourite because of the stunning wilderness location and amazing, friendly staff.
Currently many local people who have lost their homes are staying at the Canoe Centre, along with firefighters who continue to put their lives at risk to fight the huge and ongoing fires.
These people have been through the unimaginable and when we asked them what we could do to help, they replied "Send beer!"
The Rural Fire Service (RFS) is having a Christmas Party on the 8th of December and we'd like to raise money to provide some well-needed relief.
Please help us "Buy the Firies a Beer and Spread some Christmas Cheer"
We are also raising money to help rebuild and repair the Canoe Centre so that future groups whether from Stray, schools or other communities can enjoy staying at this beautiful location. Local businesses will benefit from purchasing the materials needed and we will be supporting Nymboida trades' people
We would really appreciate any donation no matter how small, the first $400 will go towards drinks for the Christmas Party and anything over that will go direct to Nymboida Canoe Centre.
$5 - Buy them a Beer
$20 - Buy them a Six Pack
$50 - Buy them a Case of Beer!
$100 (And any $$ over the initial $400) - Supplies for the Canoe Centre
Thank you so much for your help and support, it means so much.
Team Stray.
