Jimmy Jamm's Sweet Potato Bakery and Pies is a great small business located in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago. It's run by the husband and wife team of Harold and Jimmy.

It often makes the lists of the best desserts in the city .
Unfortunately, it was also the victim of a recent scam.
Someone claiming to be an employee of the electric company called the owner and said he owed $500 (the caller had the business's account number and info). Wanting to do the right thing, the business owner transferred the money, but later found out there was no such money owed and the electric company had not called him.

In addition, a year ago Jimmy Jamm's windows were broken by a vandal. Times are tough on small restaurants like theirs and rather than spend the money to fix their windows, they've put it into keeping the business going and helping to support the neighborhood.
Jimmy Jamm's has done a lot for Beverly, whether through fundraisers for local schools or bringing positive recognition to our community for being a unique small business.
The Southwest Chicago Diversity Collaborative wants to help make this right and do a little some extra for the owners of Jimmy Jamm's for all they've done for our community.
We want to raise $1300 for Jimmy Jamm's. The money will go toward:
- $500 for the money stolen by the scammer
- $700 toward the cost of repairing their windows
- $100 to cover GoFundMe's transaction fees
By contributing to this GoFundMe, you'll not only help rectify a crime, you'll also help this small business thrive.
