Help the Rolland's with Jimmy Rolland's burial.

Jimmy Rolland passed away on Saturday April 1st, 2023, in McMinnville, Oregon at the age of 77.

He was a very passionate man who lived life like he played football; with tenacity and sheer willpower.

Born in Scotland, he played football for Buxton, before moving to Northwich Victoria F.C. in 1974, scoring 45 goals in 56 games. He then emigrated to the United States to play in the NASL for the Los Angeles Skyhawks. There he won a title and, in 1978, was named MVP of the league with 17 goals in 24 games.

He ran Jimmy Rollands Soccer Camps at Balboa Park, then moved to Ventura County California. Many kids that grew up in the 1980s around Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks area learned quite a bit about football from him. There, he made a life for himself and his family.

It was in Ventura County, at parks like Borchard, Simi, Ventura, Camarillo, he returned to playing football for the CSC 76 Celtics, Camarillo United and ultimately his best team Andy Gillespie's Casuals F.C. His play, tutaledge and bellowing encouragement from the sidelines directly lead to unparalleled league success.

He played Sunday League with all 3 of his children and his mates, often saying those were his fondest memories. His contributions to the teams success were only outshined by the many lifelong friends he met there.

Sadly, he passed without a plan to set his affairs in order, nor any means to ensure his remains return to his beloved Scotland. The family is doing all they can and would be most appreciative of any support.
