Jimmy Jackson Needs Your Help

Donation protected
Hello.

My name is Jess Jackson and I am writing on behalf of my brother, Jimmy Jackson, who needs our help.

Jimmy, fresh out of school, joined the Baker Police Dept. in 1968. He, along with Mr. Nap Brown, patrolled Baker at night, and performed traffic control and school crossing duties during the day. Jimmy spent 30 years serving the citizens of Baker and helped build a first class police department. After retirement, he continued to serve, working to build the court system in Baker. Jimmy was the probation officer for 7 years. Jimmy has also been a member of the Baker Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and continues to serve through the Masons.

Jimmy raised his family in Baker, adopting two young boys and led them to become good productive citizens. When we left home, Jimmy stayed and took care of our mother and dad.

After retirement, he and his wife moved to Zachary and he spent 12 years serving on the Board at Lane Memorial Hospital. He and his wife have been members of Zachary Community Church for 20 years.

After spending his entire adult life serving and helping others, he now needs our help. He has suffered serious medical issues with foot surgery and subsequent infections. Sepsis and other blood disorders have left him disabled and confined to a wheelchair. The unexpected expense has put a severe strain on his finances as well.

Jimmy needs dependable transportation for health care and most important necessary therapy. Special needs vans sell for around $55,000 . He currently has a van valued at $25,000, but he needs help with the balance to get a wheelchair accessible van.

We have planned a garage sale to help defray some of the costs, but appears we need to raise $25,000. The sale will be Sept. 15,16 and 17th, 1448 Eagle Dr. Zachary, 9-5p.m. each day.

I hope you will join me in helping Jimmy once again have a better quality of life. Whatever you can do would be greatly appreciated.

God bless you and God bless my brother
