Hi everyone,

Those of you who know us, know we are a a couple with a lifelong dream of becoming parents. After years of planning, soul-searching, and research, we’re excited to be pursuing private adoption—a path we feel deeply hopeful (and of course nervous - I mean, nervousness is excitement on hold, right?) about. It’s a journey filled with hope, love, and, admittedly, some very daunting financial hurdles.

Adoption costs have risen significantly in recent years, with fewer placements and increasing expenses across the board. Through our research, we've learned that adoption can range anywhere from $45,000 to well over $100,000. For our particular situation, we’re preparing to raise between $75,000 and $80,000 to cover everything from agency fees and legal expenses to travel and home study requirements.

We're committed to covering as much of this as we can on our own, and we're actively applying for grants and financial assistance. However, many of those resources require us to be further along in the process before we’re eligible—and due to a kismet situation we see ourselves in, that means we need to raise much of the funding upfront to even get started.

We never imagined we'd be starting a GoFundMe, but we also know we don’t have to do this alone.
