Support for Zuri

Our hearts are broken at the loss of Sarah Buckley at only 38.

We are raising money to help her daughter, Zuri, fund her education and get the support she needs after the sudden and unexpected death of her mother.

The two of them called each other Mama and Baby Bear and loved spending time together. During the summer they enjoyed camping all around Connecticut and swimming almost every day.

Zuri is 7, in second grade and loves her stuffed animals, being in nature, books, drawing and crafts. She's in Cub Scouts and is set to start building her pinewood derby car this weekend. She was learning yoga from her mom, a yoga instructor, and the pair had matching water bottles and T-shirts.

As you can imagine, Zuri's health and safety are top concerns, and some of your donation will pay for therapy.

Sarah was a single mother. Zuri has been living with her mom and maternal grandparents, Rick and Evie, and they have embraced this unexpected role.

Sarah truly made Zuri her focus: Among the remnants of her life, we found a note listing her goals for her daughter. Zuri’s education and future were the focus of Sarah’s life. While Zuri's life will never be the same, Sarah wouldn't want her death to stop Zuri from achieving any of her dreams.
