My aim is to raise enough money to buy a filtration device for the charity Jewish Response Uganda.
Elisha Higenyi says :
"With the rapidly increasing population in both Jewish and non Jewish communities, the accessibility to clean water from dispersed drilled boreholes, in most of villages, has become a struggle, most especially in our the three main focal communities where people do not get enough water for domestic work and drinking. With low accessibility to water many have to go long distances to fetch dirt water in swamps and stagnant ponds . Every day at list 10 to15 cases are reported as having been admitted to hospitals due to typhoid. Just one device will save lives and help hundreds of people."
The portable filtration device is made by an Israeli company called NUF. Here is a short film about how these devices are being used to bring clean water to places around the world:
