some May know , some may not , but this will be so much easier then having to continue repeating ourselves and it’s so hard keeping everyone updated
Soon after we got home Friday afternoon it quickly became the worst/scariest day of our life
Bryan found Jetson unresponsive in his swing as soon as I seen him I just knew our boy was gone for good , Bryan did cpr within the 7 minutes of calling 911 and the ambulance arriving he finally started gasping for air
We were rushed to the Doctors hospital where they started testing him, blood work monitoring him etc blood work was coming back abnormal so they transferred us by ambulance to the CHOG were we spent hours and hour and hours in the emergency department , we finally got a room about 5:30am and everything starting looking great other then him having rhinovirus (common cold) , he was back to himself , we left to go check on the kids and grab clothes once we arrived back we were told he had to be put on oxygen due to an increased work of breathing
This morning they took him off oxygen they said he did great over night.
We thought we would be going home today everything was looking great .
Around 9am this morning Jetson had a seizure and 4 more back to back , the antibiotics that were giving was not helping , the next step was a CT scan and immediately go to ICU .
We got the CT scans back and found out that the ventricles in his brain are very very large. (ventriculomegaly)
As of right now they are doing a 24-hour EEG scan , and we go from there.
doctors ordered a MRI scan to be done but was canceled due to Jetson still having seizures , we are hoping that the medication that was giving will help stop them and we can get an MRI done asap , they had to completely stop feedings due the high risk of him aspirating.
Seeing your 2 month old baby be so lifeless and having no control or way to just heal him is the most heartbreaking feeling in this world
All during the night last night he had seizures and first thing this morning he had another one they are becoming internal so we don't know when he is having them other then the EEG scans telling us , they gave him a different type of anti seizure medication and we will be doing that 2X a day
They are also continuing the EEG scans
He was stable enough for them to go ahead and do a MRI scan and the doctors ordered us all 3 to get genetic testing done to see if this could possible be hereditary and if so how .
MRI came back and they ruled out both hydrocephalus and ventriculomegaly. The ventricles in his brain aren't large they just appear that way do to him not having enough oxygen in the back of his brain. They don't know how long this has been going on to see the long term damage it has done to his brain so the doctors just did a lumbar puncture (LP) to get more details , the details will give them an idea of how long this has been going on and the cause of the lack of oxygen.
Doctors still our saying no to feedings due to the high risk of him aspirating . poor baby hasn't ate since lunch yesterday so he is not liking that , hopefully if we have a good night we can start feedings tomorrow
This is so heartbreaking and we are completely lost and scared as Jetson has a long journey ahead of him the last thing we want to do is stress/worry about how we will pay our bills that won’t stop no matter how long we are away on top of all the hospital bills that will soon be hitting us.
Not to mention the constant worry of our other 2 children. In addition to the bills that will be piling up we are having to pay for gas & food
the goal for this fund is to relieve some financial burden, to help with daily cost of food , gas and parking.
the loss of wages has been a big blow for us
please send your thoughts and prayers for Jetson for healing powers , for answers and a good fast recovery.
if you cannot donate please pray hard ❤️
