My name is Ingrid González, I am doing a fundraiser for Mr. Jesús Taborda from Colombia, an 81-year-old man who subsists by selling small bags of lemons for $2,000 Colombian pesos, the equivalent of less than $0.61 cents, on the day he sells maximum 8 bags, that is, $4 just to buy eggs and have one meal a day. Don Jesús has beginnings of vitiligo, skin infections, infection in his right eye, difficulty walking upright due to a distortion of his hip and yet he has to walk hours from home to the place where he sells lemons, sometimes he has money, and he can take the bus, other times kind hearted taxi drivers take him without charging him. To this is added an inefficient EPS (health care provider entity) that does not meet his needs as a normal person because they consider him an abandoned person and yes he is, because he had 21 children, of which 13 are alive and none of them are responsible for him, there is barely a woman who rarely calls him, no more. His wife, an elderly woman, suffers from epileptic seizures and her EPS (health care provider) denies her essential medications. Mr. Jesús is forced to work harder and be able to buy the medicine. On the other hand, he lives in a not very pleasant area without access to drinking water, some years ago a good-hearted man gave him access to a lagoon with fish that he had. When he died, another person bought the land and denied him access to the water that he had by cutting the hoses. The fundraising will be used to finish his house, which was not possible to finish because the worker hired to make the house robbed him, left him without materials, and took items from his house and ran away.

What makes this fundraiser important? We live in a world with social inequality, while some people have a lot of money and all the possibilities of a dignified life, other people like Don Jesús survive in scarcity, t survive with $4 dollars or $16,000 Colombian pesos and It seems that the world and life itself are coming down on them, no one helps them, no one cares about them, many people overlook the fact that they will also reach that age, they overlook that those elderly people also contributed something in their best years, they push them aside waiting for their death to come. Is this fair? Don't they deserve a happy ending, doesn't Don Jesús deserve to feel loved and supported by a million people, don't they deserve a decent life, don't they deserve to feel like a person on this earth?

The totality collected will be arranged to buy materials and finish the house of Don Jesus, will be purchased:

If possible and the money is enough we will buy him essential items for his home such as pots, curtain, bed, blankets, pillows, fridge and padlocks to protect the entrance. At the end we will make a food market for them.

Mi nombre es Ingrid González, estoy haciendo una recaudación de fondos para el señor Jesús Taborda de Colombia, un señor de 81 años de edad que subsiste vendiendo pequeñas bolsas de limones a $2.000 pesos colombianos lo equivalente a menos un $0.61 centavos, en el día vende máximo 8 bolsas es decir $4 apenas para comprar huevos y tener una comida al día. Don Jesús tiene inicios de vitíligo, infecciones cutáneas, infección en su ojo derecho, dificultad para caminar erguido debido a una distorsión de su cadera y con todo esto tiene que caminar horas desde su casa hasta el lugar donde vende los limones, algunas veces tiene dinero y puede tomar el bus, otras veces taxistas de buen corazón lo llevan sin cobrarle. A esto se le suma una EPS (entidad prestadora de salud) ineficiente que no atiende sus necesidades como una persona normal pues lo consideran una persona abandonada y si que lo es, pues tuvo 21 hijos, de los cuales 13 quedan vivos y ninguno responde por él, apenas hay una mujer que en contadas ocasiones lo llama, no más. Su esposa pilar una adulta mayor sufre de ataques epilépticos y su EPS (entidad prestadora de salud) le niega sus medicamentos que son indispensables, el señor Jesús se ve forzado a trabajar mas duro y poder comprarle el medicamento. Por otro lado, vive en una zona no muy agradable sin acceso a agua potable, hace algunos años un señor de buen corazón le dio acceso a una laguna con peces que tenia, cuando murió, otra persona compró el terreno y le negó el acceso al agua que tenía cortándole las mangueras. La recaudación de fondos se destinará para terminar su casa, la misma que no fue posible terminar porque el obrero contratado para hacer la casa lo robo, lo dejo sin materiales, y se llevó artículos de su casa y se escapó.

¿Qué hace importante esta recaudación de fondos? Vivimos en un mundo con desigualdad social, mientras algunas personas tienen mucho dinero y todas las posibilidades de una vida digna, otras personas como don Jesús sobrevive en la escases, sobreviven con $4 dólares o $16.000 pesos Colombianos y parece que el mundo y la vida misma se le viene encima, nadie los ayuda, nadie se preocupa por ellos, muchas personas pasan por alto de que también llegarán a esa edad, pasan por alto que esas personas ancianas también aportaron algo en sus mejores años, los hacen a un lado esperando que les llegue su muerte. ¿Es esto justo? ¿No merecen ellos un final feliz, no merece don Jesús sentirse amado y respaldado por un millón de personas, no merecen una vida digna, no merecen sentirse una persona en esta tierra?

La totalidad recaudada se dispondrá para comprar los materiales y terminar la casa del señor Jesús, se comprarán:

Si es posible y el dinero es suficiente le compraremos a señor Jesus elementos esenciales para su hogar como ollas, cortina, cama, cobijas, almohadas, nevera, cocina y candados para proteger la entrada. Al finalizar le haremos un mercado de comida abundante.
