Donate to help Jess and Max W. rebuild their lives
On Friday, March 21, Jess W. and her son, Max were unfortunate victims to an act of arson. A perpetrator, who has since been detained by authorities, broke into their home and set two fires on either side of the home, and despite Jess’s best efforts to save her home, she was only able to pull Max and herself out of the house before the danger grew too great.
Although we are very thankful for both their safety, they have lost practically everything to the fire, including their beloved cat, George.
While we know the impact of this fire will always remain with them, we wanted to help kick start their lives as they work to rebuild from the ground up: especially as a receiving aid from Victim Services and prosecution of the perpetrator by the authorities may take time.
As some of you know, Max has special circumstances requiring a great deal of structure and additional care, and though Jess is a phenomenal mother, it truly takes the support of a community to help in cases like this.
If you’re unable to donate monetary funds, but feel inclined to give your time, basic household staples, food donations, or appropriate clothing; every little bit can make the difference as they set forward to put the pieces of their lives back together.
