Hello world. My name is Bridget and I am currently looking to raise funds for my grandson. My beautiful, goofy, energetic buddy. On the outside, Jerome is a silly, happy, 3 year old who likes to climb, loves Spiderman and his little sister Laila. His mother Hannah, (my daughter) and father Caleb are hard working loving parents who have just had to receive some of the hardest news a parent should ever have to receive.

When Jerome was born in Nashville three years ago, he had a team of doctors there ready to bring him fighting into the world. He was born with 4 heart defects; Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD); Atrial Septal Defect (ASD); Ebstein’s Anomaly (shifted tricuspid valve) and a narrow aorta. The doctors all hoped that time would heal the defects but there would be a slight chance that in time he would need surgery.

Unfortunately, that time is now. While his ventricular septal defect was healing a sub aortic membrane formed. If not removed in a timely manner it can lead to substantial health ramifications such as congestive heart failure. Surgery has been set for Tuesday, November 7, 2023 and Jerome will be going through open heart surgery to remove the membrane.

As any parent would, his mother and father want to be by his side while undergoing surgery, the week of hospital stay and the 6 weeks of recovery. Their family, as most, live for every paycheck. Providing for two children with the additional expenses during this long time without income will be devastating. While great strides have been made in FMLA laws, this leave is without pay.
