Jeremy Haley Recovery Fund

On November 5th, his 44th birthday, Jeremy noticed extreme pain in his left hand and arm. He began to grow concerned as symptoms were similar to a heart attack at first. He dropped his 5 year old son Aiden off with his brother Julian and family and headed to the emergency room.

Jeremy woke up 6 days later and unknowingly he was recovering from 4 consecutive surgeries on his left upper extremity. What he thought to be symptoms of a possible heart attack turned out to be something known as Necrotizing Fasciitis (Flesh-Eating Disease). We are not sure how Jeremy contracted this though it was likely from a simple cut of scrape at work. At one point Jeremy actually become septic and nearly passed away. A few more days of dialysis and additional surgeries eneded up saving his life. He is lucky to be here.

The disease has caused large portions of Jeremy’s hand, forearm, and tricep to be removed. Surgeries are still ongoing at this point, today is 11/18/21, tomorrow he will begin reconstructive surgeries to replace areas of flesh on his arm from skin grafts taken from his back and rear area.

At this point it is very hard to say what function Jeremy will have in his left arm. Portions of his hand or arm may be removed with amputation if function cannot be regained is the coming days. He will no longer be able to do the labor intensive electrical work he has come to master in the last decade or so.

The road to recovery will be a long one, as his sister I reach out on behalf of him and his son Aiden to ask those that know him to offer any kind of support that they can at this time. Jeremy has been a single father raising Aiden on his own the last few years. Unfortunately he was between jobs and housing at the time of this accident and has no health insurance to help him along.
