Jenny & Marc’s Miracle

Everyone will tell you it takes a village to raise a child. But some don’t realize or know it could take a village to make one.

Jenny and Marc officially started this journey of trying to become parents in January of 2020, after 2 years of trying to conceive naturally. Jenny was 36, which is already in the “danger zone” for healthy and fertile eggs, but she knew they could do this. She turned 37, and still 100% hopeful and so sure that it would work.

Clomid (a medication to help fertility) didn’t work. And still they were hopeful. After 2 IUIs didn’t work, Jenny and Marc still knew they were destined to be parents. A laparoscopic surgery revealed endometriosis, scar tissue, cysts, and fluid in a fallopian tube on Jenny, they performed a “tune-up” so to speak. Again, they were sure that was the fix they needed, and now it would work. Jenny turned 38 with a renewed sense of positivity and light. And then 2 more failed IUIs…

So here they are, in this place they never thought they would be, hoping to move forward with IVF. The next and most extreme step in this process. If you didn’t already know, only 17 states in the US require insurance to cover infertility. Virginia is not one of those states. So without insurance coverage and assistance they are in need of a miracle to create a miracle.

When talking to Jenny she will tell you: “Marc isn’t one of those people that holds a baby every time he sees one – he was terrified the first time he held his niece. But he is one of those people that kids gravitate to, and he has a way of immediately getting them to love him. The first time I knew Marc would be an amazing dad is when I saw him holding the bottle and feeding our new baby goat in his lap. He was gentle and affectionate – two words that aren’t often used the describe Marc. Our farm and our animals have brought out a side of him I hadn’t seen before, and has made me love him and appreciate him even more.”

And Marc will tell you: “I knew Jenny would be a great mother a few months after we started dating when I saw how she was as a teacher. She goes out of her way, above and far beyond, for every kid she teaches and coaches to make sure they have what they need. Seeing the heart, soul, and love she puts into every child she meets, and the way she genuinely cares for their well-being, I knew she would do the same a thousand times over for our own.”

The facility they are going through has a fantastic IVF option called a “Shared Risk” Program. It allows them multiple chances at IVF because those that know what it takes or has been through the process knows that the first try is not always successful.

When you start this journey they warn you that it might not work. They tell you it is expensive. They tell you the odds are not in your favor. But what they don’t tell you that it’s a rollercoaster. It’s a rollercoaster that you’re stuck on – excited and hopeful, anxious and impatient, crushed and disappointed, then right back to positive and hopeful – it’s a rollercoaster of emotion, and you feel like you’re the only one stuck on the ride. And the disappointment is soul crushing and heart breaking. But the success it worth every single second of it.

For everything Marc and Jenny have been through, this is their last chance to create the family they have hoped, wished, planned, and prayed for. They know, and want to acknowledge, that there is no way they could do any of this without the love and support of our friends and family.

So here we are asking for hope, supports, prayers, and anyway at all that we can help this beautiful couple try to bring a life into their and our world. Jenny is the most whole-hearted caring individual I have ever met and Marc loves her unconditionally. After seeing them with not only my own children but others anyone would truly believe they are the most deserving individuals and couple of becoming parents and the amazing journey that it brings. Not only do I, but anyone in their lives would thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support they receive.
