Jenny and her fight against cancer.

Donation protected
In November last year my sister-in-law, Jenny, went to a routine appointment to donate blood, her iron levels were low and after further tests got the devastating diagnosis that she had colon cancer. In January she underwent successful surgery to remove the cancer, and whilst the surgeons were confident that all the cancer was removed, they discovered it was particularly aggressive. At the end of February, after a CT scan, she found out that her cancer had returned and spread, as a result it can no longer be cured, only treated; a prognosis neither Jenny nor any of us are choosing to accept.
Jenny is an amazing mum to 3 young children and as you can imagine this news has shattered us all, she now has to face the hardest battle she will ever have to face and it’s one that we as a family won’t let her face alone, we are with her every step of the way and we won’t stop fighting.
While she undergoes chemotherapy, we are exploring additional specialist treatments, which have been proven to be effective, particularly against her strain of cancer. Unfortunately, many of these essential treatments are not available on the NHS and come with a heavy cost.
We are doing everything we can, but the financial strain is overwhelming. The cost of specialist supplements, medications, and consultations is rising fast, and we need your help to continue giving Jenny every possible chance.
To help raise the much needed funds, I’m attempting to do 3 tri-athlons this year. The first will be at the end of April and the last one in autumn later this year. I’ll post details of how I’m doing on this page. Hopefully me doing this will help keep Jenny in our thoughts throughout this year and any donations big or small will go directly towards the cost of additional treatments and will give Jenny the chance to make memories with her children
In many ways I’m hoping this not only helps Jenny but also provides inspiration for others in similar situations. I hope it also shines a light on all the wonderful research that’s going on in the field of oncology and can somehow speed up the recognition & approval of the many medicines & treatments that are unfortunately not yet available to our loved ones today.
Thank You
p.s. Don’t worry if you cant spare a donation, just thanks for taking the time to read this and make sure to ask me how things are going when you see me!
