I’m running a half marathon in Gloucester on March 22nd with my brother, Ross, in memory of our Dad, and to give back to the people that helped us.

When my dad, David Elsen, died of stomach cancer at the age of 36, it was St David’s Foundation in Newport S Wales that helped him at the end with palliative care.

I was 7 years old (Ross was just 3) and remember attending their Light a Life remembrance service where they read out his name after he had passed away.

The Foundation helped keep Daddy comfortable and made everything go smoothly for our family at the end.

More information about St David's Foundation Hospice Care: To provide and continue to develop a free and comprehensive palliative care service of excellence throughout Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and within South and Mid Powys for people, their families and carers facing a progressive life-limiting illness which is no longer curable. This service recognises the need of the whole person and is given in co-operation with other agencies.

I’m raising money to benefit St David's Foundation Hospice Care, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
