Jenn's Dream to Make a Difference

Donation protected
My dear friends and loved ones,
I am about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. On Tuesday, I depart for Kathmandu, Nepal where I will be a New Community Project (NCP) Solidarity Worker partnering with Shakti Samuha. Shakti is an organization started by victims of human trafficking.  They assist victims to reacclimate into society as well as do advocacy work to end this atrocity. UNICEF reports that as many as 7,000 women and girls are trafficked out of Nepal to India every year, and around 200,000 are now working in Indian brothels in this modern day form of slavery. Many believe that these reports are lower than the actual numbers. It must be stopped.

I have been struggling for some time to find my 'place' in the world. I have felt most at peace when providing Reiki and a healing presence for those who are suffering and especially when empowering women to be all that they can be. When this opportunity became a possibility it immediately resonated as where I should be.

The New Community Project has provided a stipend to cover my airfare and living expenses, but beyond that this is a volunteer activity which I have left my job to pursue. There are financial realities involved in making even a small change in the world. My expenses that will need to be covered here in the U.S. while I am gone are exceeding my expectations and my budget. I estimate that these expenses will run about $500/month. I will be there for 5 months. Therefore, I am tackling my fears of asking for help and putting this out as a request to the universe to provide a miracle. If you are willing and able to help me so that I may help others, your gift would be most appreciated! All money will go directly toward expenses related to this endeavor. If I raise more than I need, the surplus will be donated to the NCP's Give a Girl a Chance Project.

All amounts - even $1 - are helpful. If you cannot provide financially, positive thoughts, vibes, well wishes, Reiki, prayers, etc. are MORE than welcome and most appreciated!! Please also like and/or share this campaign! :) Thank you!

Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
In peace, love, and light,
Jenn Joy

PS: If you have money to put toward a good cause, I would strongly encourage you to make a donation to  the New Community Project. I have traveled with NCP to Honduras and Myanmar and have seen first hand the incredible work that they do! (The photo above is from the Myanmar trip - the closest I have been to Nepal thus far... :)
