Jennifer's babies (chickens)

There's nothing worse than being out of town and getting a call from your only daughter, and when you pick up the phone, you immediately know something terrible happened. Sobs, tears, shock, and horror came through her voice over the phone. Mom, my chickens, something killed all my chickens, feathers, blood everywhere. She was in shock! I tried my best to calm her, but there was nothing I could do. She found several buried, and then she let out a huge scream: no, oh no!!! Jen, what is it? It's Beep Beep, one of her favorites (just her head). Most likely, as vicious the attack, with 27 chickens gone and blood, feathers, and body parts, we think it was coyotes, but it may have been dogs. We will never know. What I can tell you is these were not the run-of-the-mill chickens. Jennifer is unable to work due to a disability, and she is in constant pain. Even with the pain she experiences, the chickens take her mind off it, even for a few moments a day. Her girls, she called them, were a joy to her and gave her something to take care of and to help keep her mind off the constant pain she experienced. Jennifer had well over $750 in exotic and rare breeds of chickens that are hard to find and lay a rainbow of various colors. She had many people stopping in to get eggs, and they'd donate towards the feed. Jen was so proud of the rainbow-colored eggs her beautiful chickens would lay. Jennifer would sometimes drive over 1.5 hours to pick up a unique chicken. These were her babies, her pride and joy, and now everything she worked so hard for, everything was gone. The trauma alone will stay with her forever. We would be grateful for anyone with it in their heart to donate towards getting her more chickens, but we also want to build a run so that they can roam in the run if we are not home.
