Jennifer & Jonathon: Helping Us Build Our Family
Donation protected
Introduction
Hello, our names are Samara Spitznagle & Stephanie Montoya. We are close friends and coworkers with Jennifer. We have seen Jennifer and Jonathon struggle through this incredibly emotional and heartbreaking journey. After an 8 year trek of unsuccessfully becoming parents, they have come to their last option: IVF and surrogacy. Funds for this account will go towards medical bills relating to their IVF and surrogacy journey.
Their Story
Jennifer and Jonathon Varga met at Ball State University in 2012. Both were working towards degrees in education. It was love at first sight, and they began to plan and build their lives together. By 2015, they were married, and ready to share the love they have for each other with the next step in life- children.
Road to Pregnancy
Jennifer has been a type 1 Diabetic before stepping foot into high school. When discussing their desire to grow their family to her doctor, they were advised to wait until Jennifer had improved A1C numbers relating to her Diabetes. After 5 years, Jennifer and Jonathon finally received the news they had worked so hard to achieve: They could start trying to grow their family. Two months later in April 2021 their dreams had come true, as they were expecting their first child.
Lincoln
Jennifer and Jonathon were ecstatic to begin their journey as parents. Everything was finally falling into place, until it wasn’t . At their first appointment, it was revealed Jennifer had high blood pressure, the beginning of more complications to come. At the 20 week anatomy scan, baby Lincoln was below the 10th percentile in growth and weight, showing signs of restrictive growth. They stayed positive that things would improve as all signs pointed to a healthy, but small baby. Then, they found excessive amounts of protein in her urine, a sign Jennifer had developed preeclampsia. This resulted in her being admitted to the hospital for continuous monitoring for several weeks. Doctors were hoping to get baby Lincoln to 32 weeks before having to deliver. Unfortunately , Jennifer’s kidneys were going into failure, and she was risk of stroke or loss of her life if she didn’t deliver her baby boy right away.
Lincoln John Varga was delivered on September 11th at only 26 weeks old. The doctors tried everything, but unfortunately Lincoln didn’t make it. They only got to spend four hours with their sweet son before he passed away. Jennifer and Jonathon were completely devastated to lose the one thing they had created and loved more than anything in this world.
Journey to Surrogacy
After two years of devastation and mourning, Jennifer and Jonathon began to see doctors and specialists to get answers and find solutions. Jennifer learned the shattering news that she would never be able to carry a baby to term with the state of her kidneys. News no mourning parents hoping to grow their family should hear. The loving couple had been encouraged to pursue surrogacy to safely grow their family.
Jennifer and Jonathon are two amazing and loving individuals who have dedicated nearly a decade educating and sharing love for their students; it is time they have their own at home to love. With your donation, you will help make this loving couple into extraordinary parents.
