Help Me Raise £3,000 for Autism In Racing

On 28th October 2026, I'll be taking part in the Autism In Racing Fundraising Race at Nottingham Racecourse, raising vital funds for Autism In Racing.

My name is Jennie Durrans, I'm 42 years old and I've dedicated the last 27 years of my life to the racing industry.

My career began in Newmarket, where I spent 12 years working with James Fanshawe, William Haggas, Newmarket Racecourses and the British Racing School. In 2017, I returned home to North Yorkshire, working with Philip Kirby and Micky Hammond, before moving to Seahouses in 2021 to train racehorses alongside my partner, Adam Nicol.

Since then, we've worked incredibly hard to build our yard, growing from just four horses to a team of over thirty and enjoying our most successful season to date in 2025/26.

Away from racing, I also have two retired racehorses, Lady Buttons, who enjoyed an outstanding showing career after racing, and her best friend Suggestion, who continues to be a star in every sense.

Why I'm Supporting Autism In Racing

I'm incredibly proud to be taking part in this fundraising race because Autism In Racing is making a genuine difference to so many people.

A close friend of mine has a young autistic son, and seeing the love, commitment and dedication shown by him, his family and everyone supporting autistic people has been truly inspiring.

Watching Autism In Racing create welcoming racecourse environments and opportunities for autistic people to enjoy the sport has shown just how important their work is.

I'm honoured to support such a wonderful cause while also fulfilling a lifelong dream of riding in a race.

About Autism In Racing

Autism In Racing works with racecourses, trainers, industry partners and families to make horseracing more welcoming, accessible and inclusive for autistic and neurodivergent people.

Through autism-friendly racedays, mentoring programmes, community initiatives and education across the industry, the charity is helping remove barriers and create meaningful opportunities for people to enjoy and build careers within racing.

Funds raised through the Autism In Racing Fundraising Race at Nottingham Racecourse on 28th October 2026 will help Autism In Racing continue expanding these programmes and supporting even more autistic people and their families.
