JENNA’S BRAVERY FUND: A Mother's Gift - Live like Jenna
The Jenna Bravery Fund is to champion and promote Jenna’s gift of giving. 100% of the funds will be donated to East High School. Where these funds are to be split amongst the Girls Softball Team, Dance Team and Theater Department.
Jenna’s Bravery Fund will be running from now, until the end of the school year.
On March 27th, 2024, Jenna A. Newcomb was home from school for spring break, watching movies with her younger sister and close friend. The ultimate tragedy that any parent fears took place. A vile and horrific monster invaded her home and murdered Jenna. In an act of bravery and doing the right thing, she put herself in front of this perpetrator to protect her loved ones. Both younger sister and close friend were badly injured but survived! Both have started the healing process.
Jenna was a sophomore in high school and enjoyed being in the dance and theater and especially loved softball. Her teammates report that Jenna was always positive and helped to keep the others’ spirits up with encouragement and shared her laughter with everyone. Those around her, especially her family, will miss her contagious smile that lit up her whole face and always gave with never wanting anything in return; other than to build that other person up. She was thriving towards her studies as a high-risk neonatal nurse.
Please do not feel you cannot contribute or that you are unable to give anything! Like Jenna, you can give a smile to strangers, take the time to hold the door open for folks coming in behind, build someone up, rather than pushing them down. Take the time to realize you are only promised today, make it count for the greater good. The most powerful gifts of all never cost anything but time. And we all know that this is the most valuable resource we all have. Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
