Help Support Jemma and Her Five Children

We are heartbroken to share the story of our dear Jemma, a 41-year-old mother of five, who is facing the final stages of a devastating battle with cancer.
Jemma’s journey began in 2022 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She bravely underwent a double mastectomy, a hysterectomy, and nine months of intense chemotherapy.

Through every challenge, Jemma has remained so strong and hopeful — determined to beat cancer for the sake of her children.

In December 2023, Jemma received the crushing news that the cancer had spread to her spine. Still, she pressed on with treatment and faced every day with courage and grace.

Recently, Jemma was given the most devastating diagnosis yet: Leptomeningeal cancer, a rare and aggressive form that affects the lining of the brain and spinal cord. Her condition has rapidly declined, and she is now facing the unimaginable.

Jemma’s greatest concern is not for herself, but for her children, who are now facing the unimaginable: a future without their mum.

Funds raised will go directly toward supporting her children, helping to cover immediate and future needs, providing stability in a time of heartache, and ensuring that they are surrounded by love, care, and support as they navigate life after this incredible loss.

No donation is too small. Every bit of support means the world to this family and will help honour Jemma’s legacy of love, strength, and selflessness.

Please keep Jemma and her family in your thoughts — and if you’re able, consider donating or sharing this page.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Words from Kirsty: Jemma Cushing is a name that will live on for years. Sadly her cancer has now spread to her brain. She doesn't have much longer in this world. This money will help towards funeral costs bills and money for her children. I can't believe that I'm typing this.. everyone who jemma met loved her. She was the loudest one in the room.. in school she used to get us into trouble for talking too much. Jemma would laugh that contagious laugh and then blame me. We would spend hours on the phone and on video calls putting the world to rights. Anything you can donate would be absolutely amazing. I know her family would appreciate that. Thank you. And remember the name JEMMA MAXINE CUSHING
