Who am I?
- I am John Seifert and am running for Madison City Council, District 7.
- I am a resident of the City of Madison since 2004.
- Married to Heather Seifert, current Rainbow Elementary School educator, since 2003 with one (1) son, John Drew Seifert III, age 7 and currently enrolled at Columbia Elementary School.
- I am involved in the city through coaching Madison City youth sports (baseball, football), volunteering in Childrens' ministry at Asbury UMC, Cub Scouts Pack 351, Co-Chair for Columbia Elementary School's WatchDads-of-Great-Students (D.O.G.S.) and volunteer time and monetary donations to both Columbia and Rainbow Elementary Schools.
- Graduate of Connect Class 10, a Leadership Huntsville/Madison County program.
- Defense contractor serving the warfighter since 2002.
What am I raising money for and how will it be used?
As part of a campaign, there are many marketing expenses. All funds raised will be used directly towards these materials such as campaign signs, flyers and business cards. I will be raising funds through the election schedule for 23 August 2016 and runoff should it occur on 04 October 2016. All donations and expenses will be tracked and reported in accordance with the latest fair Campaign Practices Act for the State of Alabama.
What are my goals and objectives if elected?
My goals and priorities for office if elected are as follows.
1. Improved Funding for Our Schools
2. Improved Quality of Life in our Parks and Recreational Facilities
3. Economic Development for Smart City Growth with Aesthetic Improvements
4. Improvement in our Traffic Patterns and Congestion
5. Ensure Public Safety has Leadership and Tools Required
These objectives, among others, can be achieved within a realistic timeline. I vow to work with other community leaders, regardless of whom is elected, to ensure we can move our city along to show results of progress.
