Hi all. had a bit of a rough start to the new year.
Yesterday, (Jan 1st) Freddie suddenly got really sick—severe tummy pain and vomiting. We rushed him to emergency care, where he needed overnight hospitalisation and urgent surgery. Thankfully, there was no blockage, but the vets found swollen, angry lymph nodes around his intestines and took biopsies to figure out what’s going on. The last 24 hours have been terrifying, but the most important thing is that Freddie is alive, being looked after, and has a real chance to recover.
Freddie means the absolute world to me. He’s my little bestie, and if we’ve ever talked, there’s a very good chance I’ve mentioned him. He’s a constant source of comfort and joy, and I’d do anything for him.
The cost of the emergency care and surgery came to around $9,000, which was completely unexpected, includes public holiday surcharges, and has all gone on a credit card. I would do it again in a heartbeat to save him, but it’s a lot to manage.
I know it’s the holidays and a tough time for many people, but even a small contribution would help so much. I’m covering his ongoing care and repayments myself, and even sharing this would mean a lot as we get through his recovery.
Thanks for reading and for keeping Freddie in your thoughts.
Love Grace
