Support '24 VFA Fellows awaiting reimbursement

It’s been so heartening to see the outpouring of support for the ’24 VFA Fellows! Here’s one other crucial way we can support them: reimbursing them for their Training Camp flights.

The ’24 Fellows who paid out of pocket for flights to Training Camp have not been reimbursed as promised. Training Camp was abruptly changed from in-person to virtual a few weeks before VFA shut down, meaning that these '24 Fellows are down several hundred dollars for an experience they didn't even get to have.

As the board could neither share a timeline for reimbursement nor guarantee that it would ever happen, I'm hoping we can come together to repair things on our own. Many Fellows are in situations where $400 is crucial: it’s rent, groceries, a plane ticket for a job interview, a U-haul for moving back in with family after layoffs (which have already taken place), etc. etc. You remember being 22!

Some details: I’m omitting the names of Fellows for privacy but I’ve verified their flight details and receipts, and I’ve shared the details with Amanda Tien ’15 for transparency. The current goal represents the total amount reported plus 2.9% for Gofundme's transaction fees and $90 for the $0.30/donation fee. There shouldn't be money left over, but if there is, I'll hand it over to Connie Bowen for use at the upcoming reunion.
